The holiday season has officially kicked off in Fort Worth where Sunday night's lighting of the Fort Worth Community Christmas Tree in Sundance Square was followed by the annual GM Financial Parade of Lights.
Thousands of people bundled up against temperatures in the 40s to line the parade route, watching more than 100 entries including bands, dance troupes, floats and equestrian units all decked out in thousands upon thousands of twinkling lights all followed by Santa on his specially designed float.
The Sundance Square Christmas tree is a 65-foot Norway spruce that was trucked down from Michigan last week. This is the 76th year of the Community Christmas Tree tradition.
