DPS named a convicted high-risk sex offender from Irving as February's featured fugitive from its list of the "Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives."
Dallas County has been working to arrest 40-year-old Michael Scott since January of last year, for violating probation, and for not registering as a sex offender.
Tarrant County's also been after him since last April.
Back in 2005 Scott was convicted of three counts of aggravated robbery and sentenced to 7 years. Then in 2016 and again in 2022, he was convicted of indecency with a child, and served several years in jail and several years of probation.
As always, Texas Crime Stoppers offers a $10,000 award for tips that lead to an arrest, but since Scott is this month's featured fugitive, another $4,000 is added to that if he's arrested this month.
To be eligible for cash rewards, tipsters must provide information to authorities using one of the following three methods:
1. Call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477).
2. Submit a web tip through the DPS website by selecting the fugitive you have information about then clicking on the link under their picture.
3. Submit a Facebook tip by clicking the “SUBMIT A TIP” link (under the “About” section).
All tips are anonymous regardless of how they are submitted, and tipsters will be provided a tip number instead of using a name.
Already this year, law enforcement agencies have arrested six "Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives," including one sex offender and two criminal illegal immigrants.
