In a child porn case with ties to Tarrant County, former reality TV personality Jerry Harris has been sentenced to 12 years in prison.
In 2020, a Fort Worth mom filed a lawsuit claiming that Harris asked her twin sons, both age 13 at the time, to send him sexually explicit images - and that he tried to get one of them to commit a sex act at a Fort Worth cheerleading competition.
Earlier this year, Harris pleaded guilty to receiving child pornography and traveling with the intention to engage in illegal sexual conduct.
In sentencing Harris, a federal judge also ordered that the sentence be followed by eight years of court-supervised release.
Harris is mostly known for appearing in the Netflix series "Cheer" which followed the competitive cheerleading squad from Navarro College in Corsicana.
