A Dallas police officer who was critically injured in a traffic accident six years ago will have to wait even longer for justice.

A mistrial has been declared in the case of former Uber Driver Boniface Madubuko. The jury put in about six hours Wednesday and two more today before telling Judge Amber Givens they were hung and nobody was budging. Givens scheduled a retrial for October 21.

Madubuko drove into the scene of a previous accident, striking Dallas Police Officer Brannon Barber in October of 2018. At the time Barber was helping set up flares at another accident site on I-20 near Mountain Creek. The impact threw Barner nearly 100 feet away and left him critically injured.
