A teenager is now locked up in Dallas, accused in Tuesday's shooting of a student at Thomas Jefferson High School.

The Dallas school district confirmed the arrest to KRLD News Wednesday evening. Sources tell us the arrest was made by Dallas police who turned the suspect over to Dallas school district police. Since the suspect is a juvenile, no further information has been released.

Meanwhile, students return to the TJ campus today, as will students at the nearby Walnut Hill International Leadership Academy. Both campuses were closed Wednesday to give the school communities time to cope with the shooting.

The victim was shot in the arm Tuesday afternoon after the close of school. The wound was not considered life-threatening.

Dallas school administrators are singling out three school employees for stepping in to care for students after the gunfire, Athletic Trainer Raul Velazquez who rendered first aid, Assistant Athletic co-ordinator Brandi Elder who notified school leadership and Band Director Bob Romano who called 9-1-1.
