Another North Texas School District is switching to four day school weeks. The Kennedale school district says it'll start with the spring semester next school year.

The district says it is addressing concerns like staff recruitment and retention - as well as work-life balance. The district is also making the move based on studies that say four-day weeks lead to better attendance and overall school satisfaction. The district did survey parents, students and staff on the idea.

When it starts up in January of next year - classes will be held Tuesday through Friday - and days will be 15 minutes longer. The district is working on childcare options for Mondays.

This may not be a permanent move , it's a pilot program. For now, it is set for a period of two and a half years.
