The only team to ever win a World Series in Arlington is in town to begin a weekend series against the Texas Rangers tonight.

This will be the LA Dodgers first return to Arlington since they won the 2020 National League Division Series, National League Championship Series and World Series at the then-new Globe Life Field which was employed as a neutral site for the MLB postseason during COVID-related protocols.

The Rangers' All-Star shortstop Corey Seager was a key man on those Dodger teams that won National League pennants three times in four seasons from 2017 to 2020.

Now, playing against his old teammates, Seager, who is now in his second season with Texas, says it will be great to see his friends but this weekend is "just about winning the series."

The Dodgers opponent in that 2020 World Series was Tampa Bay, the team the Rangers just swept out of town with three solid victories.
