Local law enforcement will be monitoring for any suspicious activity as the increase in World Cup fans begins to trickle in.

Law enforcement across North Texas will be monitoring for any possible increase in human trafficking as we get closer.

Dallas County Sheriff Marian Brown says they are meeting with their law enforcement partners within the county and also neighboring counties.

"We have to think behind the scenes about some of the things that might be taking place," Sheriff Brown said. "Will there be an increase, for instance, in individuals being trafficked."

The World Cup is three weeks from this week.

The first match gets underway June 11th in Mexico City. Both Dallas and Houston host their first matches on June 14th.
