A legal challenge in the Dallas City Council District 10 race has been dismissed as early voting has already started.

District 10 challenger Sirrano Keith Baldeo filed a lawsuit earlier this year alleging that incumbent Kathy Stewart lied on her application and does not reside in the district, according to The Dallas Morning News. A judge ruled the court could not intervene because the election was already in progress.

Stewart’s attorney called the allegations meritless.

Stewart, who has represented District 10 since 2023, is seeking re-election in the May 3 election.
