Lewisville city leaders are urging people to cut back on water if they can to avoid an emergency.
Officials say there is no emergency right now, but with the excessive heat and very little rain water demand is up.
Mandatory water restrictions are already in place. Outdoor watering is prohibited between 10 am and 6pm. And people can only water twice a week on assigned days.
The city wants people to check their sprinklers to make sure they are watering efficiently.
