Lime has deployed more than 100 new electric bikes across downtown Dallas, giving residents and visitors a fresh, user-friendly option for short trips around the city.

The rollout happened over the weekend following a successful pilot program in select cities worldwide in 2024. The new LimeBikes target downtown and visitor-friendly areas as part of Dallas’s dockless micromobility program. They join Lime’s existing fleet of up to 1,650 electric scooters and earlier e-bike models already operating under city caps.

The updated LimeBike features a step-through frame, adjustable comfortable seat, front basket, smaller wheels for easier handling, and a throttle-assist option that lets riders move without constant pedaling. Lime designed the model to be more inclusive and intuitive, lasting longer with fewer repairs while appealing to a wider range of users.

“Lime is proud to launch the LimeBike in Dallas, expanding reliable, inclusive, and sustainable transportation options for residents and visitors alike,” said Lonny Stern, senior regional lead of government relations at Lime. “LimeBike is the next evolution of Lime’s e-bike, designed with a clear goal: make shared cycling accessible, comfortable, and intuitive for more people.”

Riders can unlock the bikes through the Lime app or Uber app. The expansion builds on Lime’s March launch of its seated LimeGliders and reflects the city’s push for more low-carbon ways to move around downtown, especially ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Officials hope the bikes will cut down on short car trips, ease traffic congestion and give people a convenient, eco-friendly alternative for getting to meetings, events or attractions.
