Students at Paul Quinn College in South Dallas are celebrating a 15-year partnership providing food grown on their campus to AT&T Stadium for Dallas Cowboys fans.
That ramps up again with the home opener this weekend.
Paul Quinn President Michael Sorrell says it’s a big deal for the students.
“They are growing things that are being served on one of the largest stages in the world,” Sorrell said. “To be a part of America’s Team is something special.”
The WE Over Me Farm was born after the college closed their football program and the field was converted into a farm. The original idea was to provide for southern Dallas food desert conditions.
“And what it has grown into is something that produces not just food for the community, but for participants and fans here for the Dallas Cowboys,” Sorrell said.
Much of the food that is sold to Legends which operates the concessions at AT&T Stadium goes to healthier options.
The Cowboys host the New York Giants on Sunday. Kickoff is at Noon.
