DALLAS (1080 KRLD)- The Longhorns and Sooners are in town for this weekend's Red River Showdown at the Cotton Bowl.
The Rivalry dates back to October of 1900 -- before Oklahoma was even a state. Tomorrow's game will the 117th between the two schools. Oklahoma has won the past three match-ups and nine of the past twelve. But Texas leads the series overall, 62-and-49 with five ties.
The teams are expecting a sell-out at the Cotton Bowl this year -- more than 90-thousand fans. Last year's attendance was limited to 24-thousand because of Coronavirus restrictions.
Undefeated Oklahoma comes in rated #6 in the country while Texas is #21. This will be the sixth Red River Showdown for Oklahoma coach Lincoln Riley while it's the first the Longhorns' Steve Sarkisian.
