Luka Doncic is set to make his highly anticipated return to Dallas on Wednesday as the Los Angeles Lakers face off against the Mavericks at the American Airlines Center.
This marks the second time Doncic will play against his former team since the shocking February trade that sent him to the Lakers in exchange for Anthony Davis, Max Christie, and a future first-round pick.
The matchup has generated immense buzz, with fans eager to witness Doncic's performance against the Mavericks, where he spent six seasons and became a franchise icon.
“There’s no doubt that (the fans) have that right and they should cheer for him," head coach Jason Kidd said. "He’s one that has entertained since his rookie year. I think it’s safe to say that they should cheer. But for us, it’s about trying to find a way to win.”
Fans meanwhile are torn with Doncic returning to the American Airlines Center.
"I'll be cheering for both the Mavs and for Luka to have a good game," one fan said.
"So I was a season ticket holder, but sold them and bought some nice Luka Laker jerseys." another fan said. "I can't support this organization."
Tickets for the game are in high demand, with prices reflecting the excitement surrounding Doncic's return.
While most tickets have sold out, resale options are available starting at $225 for upper-level seats, with courtside tickets priced as high as $27,363.
Fans from across the country are traveling to Dallas for the event, ensuring a packed arena and an electrifying atmosphere.
