DALLAS (1080 KRLD)- Police say they were not the target during an early morning shooting in Dallas ... even though it initially appeared that way.
Gunfire broke out near the Dallas police Northeast substation around 4 a.m., but police say the shots were not aimed at them.
Police say two good Samaritans picked up a woman in distress and they were giving her a ride to the police station. They say the woman’s boyfriend followed behind, rammed the car, pulled out a gun and shot multiple times.
“A known suspect fired several rounds at the victim as she was arriving at the Northeast substation,” says Officer Michael Dennis with Dallas police. “During the initial confusion, it was believed that the suspect possibly had fired at the substation or officers, but that does not appear to be the case.”
No injuries have been reported. Police are currently searching for the suspect. Dennis says police know who the suspect is, they just haven’t found him yet.
