DALLAS (1080 KRLD)- A man accused of killing his girlfriend months ago has been arrested in Dallas. 39-year-old Zeniff Rudd called Denton police back in March to report that his girlfriend, Mindy Tenerias, had been shot.

"[He] stated that a gun fell, fired on its own and shot his girlfriend," says Allison Beckwith, with Denton police. She says he told officers he was in bed when it happened and heard the gun go off. But evidence determined that wasn't the case.

"In October, the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's office ruled her death a homicide," Beckwith says. "We did already have detectives assigned to the case who had conducted numerous interviews and obtained multiple warrants as part of this investigation. They were able to gather autopsy and lab results, and in doing so were able to establish probable cause for murder."

Police put out a warrant for Rudd’s arrest. They found him last night in Dallas and arrested him on a charge of murder. He's currently being held in the Denton County Jail.

Up until most recently in September, Rudd had been posting 'in loving memory' posts about his dead wife Mindy on his Facebook account.
