A real Grinch is now facing charges after stealing a Salvation Army red kettle in Arlington yesterday. But he was caught quickly.
Around noon Monday, at a Walmart on South Cooper near I-20, a guy pulled a knife on a security guard and ran off with the kettle and the Salvation Army attendant's backpack.
However, he didn't get far. Police were called quickly and they caught up with the thief in the parking lot of the Home Depot across the street.
Police recovered the kettle and the backpack, and hauled the man to jail on a charge of aggravated robbery.
