A man is behind bars in Garland charged in the fatal crash of an SUV that may be tied to a string of burglaries in other cities.
On Saturday, Garland police spotted the SUV they've been looking for and tried to pull it over. But the driver sped off, leading a high-speed chase that only ended when the SUV crashed and rolled in Dallas on Greenville Avenue near 635-LBJ.
Three of the five people inside were hurt bad enough to need hospital treatment. But the other two, including the driver, bailed out and ran for it. But it did not take long for officers to chase them down.
The driver, Joey Jarvis, is jailed on a string of charges including evading arrest and engaging in organized criminal activity. However, since one of the people taken to the hospital has since died, that charge will be added to the list.
