A 22-year-old man faces a charge of evading arrest in connection to the death of Grand Prairie police Ofc. Brandon Tsai, police say.
Grand Prairie police said they arrested Colbie Hoffman Wednesday night with the help of Dallas police. Hoffman is charged with evading arrest and detention causing death, a second-degree felony, and tampering with physical evidence, a third-degree felony.
Hoffman's arrest and charges are linked to Tsai's death. Tsai died in a crash following the pursuit of a vehicle with paper tags late Monday night.
Hoffman also had eight outstanding warrants out of Bedford, DeSoto, Grand Prairie and Waxahachie at the time of his arrest, police said.
"Capturing Hoffman was a very intensive and collaborative effort that included every bureau of the GPPD, as well as the Dallas Police, the Dallas Fusion Center, the Federal Bureau of Investigations, as well as others in a variety of capacities," the Grand Prairie Police Department said in a written in statement.
