ARLINGTON (1080 KRLD) - The man who was wanted for hitting a five-year-old boy on a scooter in an Arlington neighborhood last month has now been arrested.
After consulting with the Tarrant County District Attorney's Office, Arlington Police have charged Jose Chicas, 45, with one count of accident involving injury.
Chicas turned himself in at the Tarrant County Jail, with bond set at $10,000.
Last week, following intense media coverage of the incident, Chicas had turned himself in to Arlington Police.
At the time, police had not decided whether to file charges against him, pending further investigation.
Police said during the search for Chicas that since the boy was mostly at fault, Chicas likely would not have been facing any criminal charges had he remained at the scene as he should have.
