The man who sold a gun to the Colleyville syagogue shooter in January has been sentenced to 8-years in federal prison.
Federal prosecutors say 32-year old Henry "Michael" Williams is a convicted felon who is not supposed to have a weapon. In January he sold a handgun to British national Malik Faisal Akram who then took four people hostage at the Beth Israel synagogue in Colleyville.
The standoff lasted more than 10 hours and finaly ended when the temple's rabbi threw a chair at Akram and fled with the other two remaining hostages just as an FBI tactical team was moving in, according to Associated Press. None of the hostages were injured. Akram was shot dead.
Prosecutors say Williams had met Akram at a southern Dallas intersection and sold him the gun for $150 just days before the shooting.
Williams was convicted in 2005 of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and attempted possession of a controlled substance in 2013.
