The Mavs won last night to even their series with the Thunder at a game a piece, so you would think fans would be happy, right? Wrong.
It like some Mavs backers have a big 'beef' with, of all things, Whataburger.
It all started with a tweet. The Texas-based burger chain shared their excitement for Game 2 on X as the Dallas Mavericks were set to play the OKC Thunder.
However, since Whataburger sponsors both teams, they had trouble choosing who to root for. So, they tweeted the following:
The tweet soon backfired, as Texas fans shared the 'betrayal' they felt from Whataburger. Following the backlash, the burger chain attempted some damage control with a follow-up tweet:
That tweet didn't help much either, so they then tweeted:
