The McKinney ISD is shifting the attendance zones at three campuses to prepare for tremendous growth.
With at least 50 housing subdivisions either under construction or in the planning stages, the McKinney board of trustees approved a plan to shift some incoming students from Frazier Elementary School to Press Elementary School, from Johnson Middle School to Cockrill Middle School, and from Boyd High School to North High School.
Assistant Superintendent Dennis Womack says over the next ten years, enrollment is projected to swell.
Students currently in the shifting attendance zones will have the option of remaining at their current schools if they so desire.
