McKinney ISD leaders will meet tonight to discuss possible campus closures and attendance zone changes for the next school year.
According to the district’s meeting agenda, the board will consider repurposing three unnamed elementary schools in the southwest part of the district and redrawing attendance zones for all grade levels.
The potential changes come after a long-range planning committee recommended avoiding the costs of operating underutilized campuses.
Earlier this year, McKinney ISD made significant budget cuts, eliminating more than 30 positions and some programs, including summer school.
The special board meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. at district headquarters.
