
A Mesquite police officer faces a charge of misuse of official information after police say he used a department-issued laptop to help his father find another person's data.
Ofc. Brian Hill's father, Darvin Hill, is charged with deadly conduct in connection to a gunshots fired at a vehicle, Wylie police said.
Police said Darvin Hill fired at a car at about 2 a.m. on June 25 in the 100 block of S. Ballard Avenue.
On July 16, Hill's son, Brian Hill, turned himself after detectives obtained two warrants for his arrest, police said. Hill is accused of helping his father access a database to learn information about the person at which he fired.
Brian Hill also faces a charge of providing a false statement to a peace officer.
