We are learning that one of the detainees who was shot and wounded during the sniper attack on the Dallas ICE facility is a Mexican national.
The Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs says the Mexican Consulate General in Dallas contacted local authorities to confirm that one of the seriously injured is a Mexican national currently hospitalized and receiving care.
"The North American Unit Chief has conveyed concern through diplomatic channels and requested a full investigation into the event and unrestricted access to the injured Mexican citizen," a statement read.
They add that they are committed to protecting Mexican citizens through its consular network in the United States.
