The new police chief in North Richland Hills is a familiar face and name to everyone at NRHPD and City Hall.
City Manager Mark Hindman has announced the promotion of long-time NRH police officer Mike Young to become the new chief of police to replace the now-retired Jimmy Perdue.
Young was named interim police chief. With a nearly 40-year career at NRHPD, Young has risen through the ranks after being hired as a patrol officer in 1985 following a four-year hitch in the US Air Force.
Young will be sworn in on July 10th at a city council meeting.
