A Houston area police officer remains in the hospital after being shot while chasing a carjacker over the weekend.
Missouri City Police Officer Crystal Sepulveda is expected to make a full recovery even after being shot in the face.
Missouri City Assistant Police Chief Lance Bothel says Sepulveda is in stable condition.
Police chased a carjacked vehicle into Houston where the gunman bailed out. While being chased on foot, he turned and fired the rounds that struck Sepulveda. He, in turn, was killed when police returned fire.
