A McKinney man has become the latest in a string of suspects from North Texas to confess to his role in the insurrection at the US Capitol in January.
Kevin Blakely now stands convicted of the federal misdemeanor charge of Parading, Demonstrating or Picketing in a Capitol building. He pleaded guilty and will be sentenced March 24th.
Blakely was apparently tracked down by Federal investigators using data from his cell phone which put him inside the Capitol building on January 6th. At the time the building was closed and supposed to be secure as Congress was counting electoral votes.
He becomes the third person from the DFW area to plead guilty to his role in storming the US Capitol.
Yesterday, Troy Smocks was given another five months in jail for creating an inflaming video, then angering a federal judge by claiming he was the victim of racial injustice.
Frisco real estate agent Jennifer Ryan also pleaded guilty and is to be sentenced next month.
