Veterans Day ceremonies will be observed at all six National Cemeteries in Texas today.
Ceremonies commence at 11 a.m., the traditional time because Veterans Day was once known as Armistice Day in observance of the armistice that ended World War One hostilities at 11 a.m. on November 11th in 1918.
The six National Cemeteries in Texas include two in San Antonio and one each in Dallas, El Paso, Houston and Kerrville.
In addition, there are Texas State Veterans Cemeteries in Abilene, Corpus Christi, Killeen and Mission.
