More charges have been filed in connection with the shooting outside a detention center in Alvarado south of Fort Worth.

The shooting happened on July 4th when officers responded to a group of people shooting fireworks at the Prairieland Detention Center.

A new indictment, which relies on President Donald Trump's recent declaration that antifa is a domestic terrorist organization, includes weapons and explosives charges as well as rioting and attempted murder.

An Alvarado police officer was shot in the neck. That officer was eventually released from a hospital.

Prosecutors say the riot and shooting was in response to the Trump administration's ramping up of deportations.
