There will be no need to go hungry at Globe Life Field where the Texas Rangers open their season on Thursday.
The vendors at Globe Life Field unveiled the line-up of new foods, and one of the more talked about items is the Boomstick Triple Play. The family-sized feature uses the now traditional Boomstick's box to hold two hamburgers, a footlong hot dog, and an order of nachos. It's intended for a family of four and costs $33.
The concession stands will also offer new selections like Korean Pork Steamed Buns, Meatball garlic knot sliders, and a Ranchero Chile Relleno Dawg which is a split hot dog filled with Queso Chihuahua and then wrapped in bacon and a banana pepper.
Golden Chick has had a presence at Globe Life Field since it opened in 2020. Casey Rapp with Delaware North says it's marking its long-term partnership by introducing the Chicken and Waffle Taco.
Also, there will now be an official Whataburger stand inside the stadium - but it's not going to be ready for Opening Weekend.
Stadium officials say the Whataburger stand should be open by the Rangers' second home stand beginning April 5th against the rival Houston Astros.
This year, "Arlington Eats" will expand from five local restaurants to seven. The stand featuring a rotation of Arlington restaurants near Section 101 will be open for all 81 home games this year.
"It's very exciting because we've had a small radius with our product, but now, we're going to be known nationally," says Travis Johnson, owner of TJ's Catfish and Wings. TJ's Catfish and Wings is joining the rotation along with Shrimp Doc.
Returning restaurants to Arlington Eats will be Ella B's, Prince Lebanese Grill, Sugar Bee Sweets Bakery, The Tin Cup, and Cartel Tacos. Johnson says Arlington Eats can introduce visitors coming from other MLB cities to the variety of restaurants Arlington can offer.
"We have some really good food in this very small area, and I just think we're all piggybacking off each other," he says. "My business partners and I have always talked about how Arlington is a great food mecca."
