H-E-B officially opens its long-awaited Mid Cities store today, Wednesday, May 20, at 6 a.m., bringing a full-service grocery option to the Bedford and Euless communities. The 126,000-square-foot location at 2105 Rio Grande Blvd. in the Glade Parks development marks the first H-E-B in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford area.

The store spans both Bedford and Euless city limits and features a pharmacy with drive-thru, expanded curbside pickup, a True Texas BBQ restaurant with its own drive-thru, an H-E-B Fuel station, and a car wash. It is expected to create approximately 600 to 700 new jobs in the region and serve as a major retail hub for residents in Bedford, Euless, Colleyville, Grapevine, and nearby communities.

Groundbreaking took place in November 2024 after years of local anticipation. H-E-B first announced plans for the site in 2024, and construction progressed steadily through 2025 and early 2026. The opening comes as H-E-B continues expanding across North Texas to meet growing demand in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.

City officials have warned of heavier-than-normal traffic around Cheek-Sparger Road, Rio Grande Boulevard, and Heritage Avenue during the first several days of operation. Drivers are encouraged to plan alternate routes and allow extra time.

The new store offers shoppers the full H-E-B experience, including popular in-house brands, fresh produce, bakery items, and Texas favorites. Grand opening promotions and exact hours beyond the 6 a.m. start are expected to be shared by the retailer as the day progresses.
