A new H-E-B grocery store in Forney is opening Wednesday (2/04) at 6 a.m., bringing the popular Texas retailer’s services to the eastern edge of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex after weather pushed back its original launch date.

The store, located at 11700 E. U.S. Highway 80, was originally scheduled to open January 28 but was postponed due to an Arctic blast that impacted road conditions and safety across North Texas.

H-E-B officials said the decision to delay was made out of caution for customers and store partners as crews worked to clear ice and hazardous roads, ensuring residents could safely attend the grand opening this week.

The nearly 140,000-square-foot store will offer a full-service pharmacy with drive-thru, curbside pickup, home delivery, a True Texas BBQ restaurant, wellness clinic services and other amenities that have made the chain a staple in Texas communities.
