A long-vacant 112-acre plot in Frisco, dubbed the "Hole on the Toll," is finally being developed into a vibrant mixed-use destination.
City officials held a groundbreaking Thursday for "The Mix," a project set to transform the southeast corner of Lebanon Road and the Dallas North Tollway. The development will include offices, shops, hotels, an upscale grocery store, and residential options.
The site was previously home to the abandoned Wade Park project, which stalled in 2014, leaving the land unused for nearly a decade.
Frisco Mayor Jeff Cheney told KRLD's media partner NBC 5 that the city is backing the project with up to $113 million in funding. The first phase of "The Mix" is expected to open in 2028, marking a new chapter for the high-profile location.
