A group of North Texans is giving back to veterans, first responders and nurses on Thanksgiving. Here's this week's KRLD Difference Makers.
As a former firefighter, Vice President of Centurion American Sean Terry has a special place in his heart for first responders and veterans. Now, nonprofit organization Operation Forever Free and real estate company Centurion American are paying it forward.
For the fifth consecutive year, the Statler will be the host for Thanksgiving for Your Service, a tribute to our nation’s heroes presented by Centurion American Development Group and Operation Forever Free. On Thanksgiving Day, all active first responders, retired veterans, medical professionals, and their immediate families are invited to enjoy a complimentary Thanksgiving dinner from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
A traditional Thanksgiving dinner buffet with all the trimmings will be served in The Statler’s restaurant, Scout, with football playing on the big screen.
For some, being back at the Statler brings back fond memories.
"What's really fun is hearing the stories, when they do come down there that they have great memories of the Statler from the '60s, '70s, and '80s," Terry said. "They really come back there to see the iconic hotel back to life."

Most importantly, he said this event brings people together.
"It feels good that we still have people who care but it's good to be part of that and part of something that is bigger than you," Terry said.
Reservations for Thanksgiving for Your Service are requested in advance, and complimentary valet will be provided. Reservations can be made at https://thestatlerdallas.com/thanksgiving.
We're proud to call Sean Terry, Centurion American and Operation forever free this week's KRLD Difference Makers.
