More Afghan refugees are expected to come to North Texas here in the next few weeks, and Gateway Church is asking for help making them feel welcome.
“One of the ways that we can assist is to provide some basic household items that the refugees will need as they begin a new journey and get settled here,” says Pastor Laura Crate, with Gateway Church.
Gateway is partnering with World Relief to prepare welcome kits for refugees. The kits are full of essentials and provide supplies in six different categories, including hygiene and kitchen.
Through the next two weekends, Gateway is accepting kit donations.
If you want to prepare a kit yourself and drop it off, you can. You can also ship it, or give a cash donation.
“We want to create as many of these welcome kits as we can,” Crate says.
