Texas leaders are reacting to President Donald Trump's tariff plan, with one Republican Congressman expressing confidence that small businesses will weather the impact.

Rep. Roger Williams, R-Arlington, said Thursday that while markets may fluctuate, Main Street will adapt. Williams, a longtime car dealer, believes small business owners are resilient and will make necessary adjustments.

Williams, who has been in the auto dealership business for 52 years, argued that government regulations — not tariffs — are the biggest obstacle to small business growth.

The tariff plan has drawn mixed reactions across the state, with business leaders and lawmakers weighing its potential effects on the Texas economy.
