What can North Texas expect when the World Cup descends on the area in 2026? Money...lots of money.

In a specially-called meeting, the Dallas City Council was briefed on economic impact estimates, fan attendance projections, what venues will be served throughout DFW, and more when the World Cup arrives.

FC Dallas president Dan Hunt says it's going to be massive.

According to the update from city leaders, it is estimated that four matches will bring in approximately $415 million to the area.

In all AT&T Stadium will get 9 matches, and those projections are yet to be determined.

Dallas is still pitching to FIFA to host the International Broadcast Center, as it did in the 1994 World Cup. Dallas would use the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas downtown, if selected.
