North Texas is getting $85 million for new fueling stations.

The money is coming from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and will be used to build five hydrogen fueling stations and around 100 charging stations for electric vehicles.

Congressman Colin Alred, a member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, says the money will help Texas meet the needs of emerging technologies while continuing to grow the state's economy.

While the charging stations will be built across North Texas, the hydrogen fueling stations will be built in the Texas Triangle, which includes the DFW area, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio. Those stations will create a hydrogen refueling network for medium and heavy-duty freight trucks.
