North Texas nursing teacher comes out of retirement to help, dies from Coronavirus


A North Texas woman who came out of retirement to teach nursing students has now died from the Coronavirus.

The family of Iris Meda confirms her death is related to the virus.

At the age of 70, Meda, who retired from the North Texas Job Corps in January returned to work, teaching nursing students at Collin College. A month later she fell ill with the Coronavirus and was put in the hospital.

Her condition worsened and she went on a ventilator before dying ten days ago.

A service for Iris Meda will be held at noon on December 5th at Covenant Church in McKinney.
