A Northlake mother is charged with attempted capital murder after police say she stabbed her husband and their 3-year-old daughter and 10-month-old son early Tuesday. All three are expected to survive.

NBC 5 reported that Northlake officers were sent to a home in the 1200 block of Daylily Drive at about 4:20 a.m. on a stabbing in progress. Police said the 34-year-old husband called 911 and reported that his wife had a knife and was stabbing him. He was found with a stab wound to the head. Officers searched the house and found the two children with stab wounds to their chests. All three were taken to a Fort Worth hospital.

Northlake Police Chief Robert Crawford said the injuries were not believed to be life-threatening. The children remained in the hospital for observation. “They’re still in hospital for observation, but I believe they are going to be okay,” Crawford said.

The woman, 37-year-old Holly Leeann Flores, was taken to a Denton hospital for observation and possible injuries. Police said she was treated and released, then booked into the Denton County Jail. The Denton Record-Chronicle reported that she faces two preliminary charges of attempted capital murder of a person under 10 and one preliminary charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Police believe she is the children’s mother.

Crawford said officers had been called to the home five times since March on welfare concerns. He did not give details of those calls. He also said investigators had not determined a motive. Flores did not say much after she was detained.
