Not everyone likes the holidays. It can be a struggle for many just getting through it.

That is why one Oak Cliff tavern is getting behind the Festivus holiday which was created years ago on Seinfeld.

"We try to do everything for everybody at this place," Co-owner Meri Dalke of Ten Bells Tavern said. "At the old place we had a Festivus thing as well."

Ten Bells Tavern co-owner Meri Dahlke says they do the traditions involving the pole, the Feats of Strength, and the Airing of Grievances.

"We're going to put a twist on it," Dahlke said. "I'm going to have everybody write it down on a piece of paper, or they can air it, I don't know, and we have a little bonfire over there and we're just going to put it in the fire and let it release."

Ten Bells Tavern recently reopened after a three-year hiatus because of a construction project.

The establishment in the Bishop Arts District is home to several regulars along 8th Street near Zang.

Festivus is celebrated on December 23rd and the story originated in Seinfeld episode "The Strike."
