DALLAS (1080 KRLD)- The driver in the crash that killed an off-duty Dallas police officer earlier this week has been identified.
Officer Gabriel Bixby was off-duty when he died early Tuesday evening in Hunt County. Reports say he was on his motorcycle when a Honda Accord, driven by 85-year-old Frank James, failed to yield and turned in front of him. Bixby couldn't avoid the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.
James was taken to the hospital for injuries. Texas DPS is still investigating the incident.
Officer Gabriel Bixby had been with the department since 2018 and was part of the Northeast Patrol Division.
