An off-duty police officer has been struck and injured and one other person has died in a freeway crash in Dallas this morning.

It was just past 4:30 a.m. when a vehicle crashed into a construction zone on north-bound I-45 near Simpson Stuart.
Reports say an officer working to protect the construction crews was rushed to the hospital in serious condition.
A civilian was killed but it's not clear if it was the driver who crashed or a construction worker.
