"When we started spark in 2017, it was just an idea," says Zed Smith, chief operating officer of The Cordish Companies. "We were trying to solve a problem. We had an asset that was underperforming. But we saw the opportunity to create something special."
Spark Coworking started in Baltimore and also has locations in St. Louis and Kansas City, Missouri.
Smith says Spark will allow entrepreneurs, creators and innovators to create special things.
"We will grow businesses," says Smith. "We will bring energy to the economy of Arlington. There will be entrepreneurs with big ideas coming out of Spark here in Arlington."
Rangers Managing Partner Ray Davis says Spark Arlington could lead to big things.
"There's going to be people that will come in here and share office space," says Davis, "and they will grow to the next entrepreneurs and the next public companies."
Davis says this further demonstrates the team's commitment to their former home.
"This is another example of reconfiguring this stadium and a commitment we made to keep this here long term," says Davis.
Spark Arlington is slated to open this winter.
