DeSoto police shot and killed a man after a home burglary call Monday morning.
A homeowner on Polk Street called 9-1-1 before noon to report someone breaking in. When police got there they saw the armed man outside and say he lunged at them. That's when an officer shot him - killing him. DeSoto police have asked the Dallas County District Attorney's Public Integrity Division and Grand Prairie's Officer Involved Shooting Investigation Team to look into the shooting.
The officer has been placed on paid administrative leave while that investigation is underway. The suspect has been identified as Michael Nunez, a 47-year-old white male.
