The search is on for 19-year-old Brashard Tankersley Jr., and police say he's armed and dangerous.
Yesterday, Tankersley was involved in an incident in Sansom Park that required backup from several police departments, including the Fort Worth PD and Lake Worth PD. Police say Tankersley and another suspect jumped out of a sedan after it hit a parked vehicle and a pedestrian. Two people were injured, one was taken to the hospital but is expected to be okay.
Police say Tankersley and the other suspect tried to flee, and officers started chasing them. One suspect surrendered, but Tankersley slipped away. Police cleared the area yesterday as they searched for him, but it has since reopened.
"The area's been released," says Lake Worth Police Chief JT Manoushagian. "Residents are free to go back to their homes. We don't have any information that would indicate that Tankersley is still in that area."
The suspect who was caught and arrested has been identified as Jaylon Spivey, 22. He's charged with aggravated robbery and evading arrest.
Detectives have obtained arrest warrants for aggravated robbery, aggravated assault and deadly conduct on Tankersley.
