Four people have been arrested following a shooting at the Parks Mall in Arlington Thursday night that left two people injured.
Arlington police say the shooting happened about 7:30 p.m. on an escalator near the ice skating rink following some sort of argument between the suspects.
Arlington police Sgt. Courtney Wright says a man and a woman were shot. They are in the hospital this morning with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say four suspects have been arrested including 19-year-old Damius Lindon, and 19-year-old Jaccques Jacques. They are both charged with Fighting in Public.
Also, 18-year-old Kaiden Jackson was booked into the Arlington City Jail on two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and 17-year-old Careco Harris will be charged with one count of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
Police say Mr. Lindon, Mr. Jacques, and Mr. Harris were at the mall together and got into a verbal argument with Mr. Jackson and some other individuals he was with, apparently over one of them speaking to someone else's girlfriend.
During the altercation, investigators believe Mr. Harris pulled out a handgun, pointed it at the other group, and then hit one of them with it. It does not appear that he fired any shots.
At some point during the fight, the gun fell out of Mr. Harris' hand. Investigators believe Mr. Jackson then picked it up and fired at Mr. Harris, striking him in the arm. A 38-year-old woman who was nearby and not involved in the fight was also struck in the leg.
Mr. Harris was placed under arrest at the hospital and will be booked into the Arlington City Jail once he is medically cleared.
