Pat Green joined several artists from across the country for a fundraiser for Texas flood victims Wednesday. Green's younger brother, sister-in-law and two of the couple's kids died in the floods.

"I've got an amazing family, my daughter, my son, my wife is beyond a rock. Gibraltar is a little, tiny pebble compared to her," he told reporters before the show. "We're sticking together, and that's what we should do right now, not only as a community but as a family."

Green played at Globe Life Field in Arlington and livestreamed the fundraiser. He says all the money raised will go to three non-profits working in the Hill Country: Kerr County Relief, TEXSAR, and the Do It For Durrett Foundation.

"We can actually give straight to the families that have needs right now," he said. "What my wife and I are trying to do is make 100% pass-through. Give to our foundation, and we will get it to the places it needs to go."

Green opened and closed the show. Other artists included Josh Abbott, Dierks Bentley, Casey Donahew, Miranda Lambert, Joe Nichols and the Eli Young Band. Some played in-person; others joined by video feed.

Green said he wanted to play more upbeat songs, and he opened with "Take me out to a Dance Hall."

"There are a lot of sad songs out there, but I want to go forward and celebrate their memory not lament it," he said. "I'm trying to turn the sorrow into some bright light and hopefully bring some resolution for these families that have been decimated."

At the end, Green said the event had already raised $1 million.

"The one thing I know about Texas is Texas stands up for Texas," he said before the concert. "We all look after each other."
